Four Letters – One Myth
ABBA – In the 1970ies these four letters became a myth. The list of hits ABBA wrote between 1972 and 1982 is sheer endless. Brand new - 2017 with Uwe Huebner as narrator, who is a well-known German chart-show host!
On April 6, 1974 ABBA won with their song ‘Waterloo’ the Eurovision Song Contest. This has been the beginning of an incredible, international career. Although the quartet hasn’t been on stage for quite a long time, they didn’t lose any of their attraction. The two-hour show ‘Thank you for the music’ reincarnates Agnetha, Anni-Frid, Benny and Björn and brings the music and lifestyle from the 1970ies back on stage.
We will never forget timeless pop classics like ‘Waterloo’, ‘SOS, ‘Mamma Mia’, ‘Dancing Queen’, ‘Super Trouper’ and ‘Money Money Money’. Performed by a formation, that doesn’t only look like ABBA, but also matches perfectly with the voices of their Scandinavian role models.
The actors perform together in such an excellent and authentic way; one gets the impression of seeing real ABBA performing on stage. During the past few years, the show produced by Bernhard Kurz has been shown at the Estrel in Berlin as well as on various stages in and outside the country with great success.
The musical-biography with its combination of information and party is a very special homage to the Swedish cult band. And the inventors couldn’t have found any better name for it than ‘Thank you for the music’!
